Acne Skin Care FAQs

How long does it take to get clear skin?

While many clients see an improvement in their skin within the first month, it usually takes about 6 treatments over a 3-4 month period of time to get at least 90% clear. This is because it takes 30-90 days for existing acne impactions to make their way to the surface.

How often should I come in for Acne Treatment?

In order to get clear as fast as possible, we recommend coming in for acne treatment every 2 weeks during the first few months to exfoliate the skin, make extractions of acne plugs as they surface, hydrate the skin, adjust your home regimen and diminish post-inflammatory pigmentation and acne scars.

Why do you adjust home care routine every 2 weeks?

Acne skin has the ability to adapt to products. We want to strengthen your homecare routine every two weeks to stay ahead of your skin’s ability to adapt and keep pushing your skin to get clear. If you are unable to come in that often, we’ll still get you clear, it will just take longer.

What is the key to clear skin?

Your diligence using the right acne-safe products and getting regular professional acne treatments with extractions is the key to clear skin!

What will it cost for products?

The skin products range from $11 to $39. You can see the prices in our online store.

Does your acne treatment really work?

Yes! Our program has a 90% success rate.

I have rosacea and acne. Do you treat my disorder?

Yes. We successfully treat 'acne rosacea'.

I am not from NYC area. / I cannot come for treatment every 2 weeks. Can you help me to get clear?

Yes. We have our long distance program to help you.
In order to get the best possible results you should commit to:

  • Carefully following the home care guide we give you you.
  • Do your prescribed skin care routine diligently every day, twice per day.
  • Check in with us via the email 2 weeks, until your skin is clear.

How is your acne treatment program different from Dermatologists'?

  • We use a range of products in different strengths that can be customized to treat your specific type of acne and severity (it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach).
  • You have a personal acne expert to coach you through your way to getting clear. We are available to answer your questions anytime and walk with you every step of the way.
  • We address all aspects of getting your skin clear - your makeup, lifestyle, diet, medication or birth control pills, not just one area.

What happens after I am clear? Will I be able to stay clear?

After your acne is under control, you will simply need to maintain your home care products to keep clear. After you are clear for several months, we will weaken you acne regiment to maintain your clear skin with basic skin care routin - cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunblock.

Can I get rid of acne pigmentation (red or brown marks left behind by old acne breakouts)?

Yes. Some clients call it 'acne scars', but these are not true acne scars. This is Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH). The products in your home regiment and our chemical peels will diminish the pigmentation signigicantly. As you are not going to have new breakouts, the skin on you face will gradually become totally clear - with no new breakouts and no red or brown spots left behind.

Can I get rid of acne scars?

We are proud to provide Microneedling for smoothing both pitted and depressed scars caused by cystic acne and inflammation.

After successfully treating my acne with AcneClinicNYC, I was planning to address my hair issues at another clinic. However, my esthetician offered their PRP hair treatment (done on the scalp), and it turned out to be half the price of the place I was considering. I love my results. Thank you for transforming both my skin and hair!

I have had the most amazing experience since I started the Acne Treatment Program with Veronika 2 months ago! My face is almost flawless but beyond that I have developed a great friendship with her.

I have been battling acne for the last 18 years. I have tried every single antibiotic, medication, crème, soap, topical, etc. you name it. I did see some results that I was actually pleased with while on Accutane/Isotretinoin.
