Sunscreen Showdown: Mineral vs Chemical
Welcome to AcneClinicNYC’s blog, where we delve into the ongoing debate of chemical vs mineral sunscreen. It’s a crucial choice for anyone serious about skincare, and we’re here to help…
A chemical or skin peel is a science-based treatment that, when properly done, offers one of the most powerful non-surgical skin improvements available. Chemical peels are acid solutions that remove damaged layers of cells from the skin’s surface and stimulate skin regeneration—revealing glowing and youthful skin.
Light chemical peels include fruit-, milk-, or sugar-based acids and enzymes. These peels may result in light flaking and sting slightly when applied. They can help improve sun-damaged skin and lighten pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Medium chemical peels include Jessner peels and TCA peels. Jessner peels are good for oily, acne-prone skin. TCA peels are appropriate for more intense sun damage, pigmentation, and deeper lines and wrinkles. TCA peels can also be beneficial for those who have very thick, congested skin. All these skin peels are typically accompanied by a lasting, sunburn-like sting and result in more aggressive exfoliation that can last for up to 10 days.
By removing the buildup of dead skin cells and stimulating the regeneration of cells, peels result in visible improvements. They can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, diminish oil production and pore size, clear blemishes, and improve texture, tone, and hydration—giving your skin an overall healthy appearance.
Skin peels are extremely beneficial in the treatment of hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, sun damage, and photoaging.
While it is impossible to predict the exact effects of a chemical peel, below is a general description of what to anticipate after a light to medium peel.
After your treatment, you will be given specific instructions to follow.
Once your skin has healed, daily skincare is essential to maintain the results of your peel. Good moisturizing and sunblock are important, and additional specialty products may be prescribed based on your individual needs.

Over 10 years of skin care experience. Best acne clinic in NYC
I have been battling acne for the last 18 years. I have tried every single antibiotic, medication, crème, soap, topical, etc. you name it. I did see some results that I was actually pleased with while on Accutane/Isotretinoin.

After successfully treating my acne with AcneClinicNYC, I was planning to address my hair issues at another clinic. However, my esthetician offered their PRP hair treatment (done on the scalp), and it turned out to be half the price of the place I was considering. I love my results. Thank you for transforming both my skin and hair!
I tried every product made for acne with no results. Once on their treatments and products my acne cleared up. I learned so much about my acne and my skin. Their home regimen are entirely personalized!
