Use Proper Sun Protection:
Apply SPF 30+ with physical filters every 2 hours for a minimum of 2 weeks before the treatment.
Ensure your skin is not sunburned, and you do not have any cold sores before treatment.
Avoid Skin Irritants:
Your skin must be non-irritated for the procedure.
Do not wax, use hair removal products, undergo laser hair removal, or use scrubs on the treatment area before your appointment.
Discontinue Prescription Skin Products:
Stop using prescription skin products 5 days before the treatment.
Day 1: Do not cleanse your skin.
Apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the treated areas.
Day 2–5: Cleanse your skin gently using a mild cleanser, then rinse thoroughly with water.
Continue applying Vaseline to keep the skin protected.
Avoid using moisturizer, SPF, makeup, masks, swimming, or smoking during this period to prevent irritation and infection.
Day 6 – Month 3: Apply SPF 30+ with physical filters and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors. Wear protective hats and avoid sun exposure, as failure to do so can result in permanent brown discoloration.
You may resume your regular skincare regimen, including retinoids, 10 days after the procedure.
If hyperpigmentation occurs, begin using a fading cream, such as hydroquinone, starting on day 7.
Consider laser treatments to expedite recovery, improve scarring, and reduce residual pigmentation.
Follow the plan developed by your specialist, as timing is important for achieving results.
Continue with the skincare routine tailored for your skin.
Apply and reapply SPF every 2 hours if outside.
At AcneClinicNYC, we love TCA CROSS for its very targeted work on the bottom of the scar that allows elevation of even the tinies area of tissue. We combine it with other scars treatment that gives very promising results for the toughest treatment of scars.
Deep acne scars, such as ice pick or boxcar types, can be particularly resistant to many treatments. TCA CROSS involves the careful placement of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) into the scars, promoting fibroblast activity and collagen production to elevate the scar floor.
TCA CROSS involves applying a high concentration of TCA directly into the scar tissue, causing a localized inflammatory reaction that leads to the formation of new collagen and subsequent elevation of the scar.
Enhances skin resurfacing while precisely targeting separate scars.
Provides effective resurfacing and targeted scar treatment safe for all skin tones.
Offers skin retexturing and precise scar elevation, promoting collagen production and better overall skin texture.
Ensure everything you apply is non-comedogenic with our easy-to-use checker. We made it very easy for you to check if your skincare, makeup, and hair products are safe for your skin.

It is recommended to avoid strenuous activities, including going to the gym, for at least 72 hours after treatment to prevent excessive sweating and irritation to the treated area.
Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment, but you may prefer not to go back to work because your skin will be covered with ointment.
It is crucial to avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks after the treatment. Always use a high SPF sunscreen when going outside to protect your skin from UV damage and reapply it every 2 weeks.
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) can occur, especially in individuals with darker skin tones. Proper post-treatment care, including sun protection and gentle skincare, can minimize this risk.
Pigmentation typically fades over time, usually within a few weeks to a few months. Using recommended skincare products and protecting your skin from the sun can help speed up the process.
My daughter was treated for acne at AcneClinicNYC, and I always wanted to try PRP for anti-aging (I’ve read a lot about it being the most gentle way of rejuvenation). Oh my gosh, I fell in love with this treatment. I do four sessions a year now and plan to stick with it. Every treatment feels like a breath of fresh air, and I can see how thankful my skin is: bright, tight, and lifted!
I have been battling acne for the last 18 years. I have tried every single antibiotic, medication, crème, soap, topical, etc. you name it. I did see some results that I was actually pleased with while on Accutane/Isotretinoin.
I came to AcneClinicNYC to treat my scars, and I also had acne at the time. Veronika said we should tackle the acne first. My skin cleared up fast, and then they did three PRP treatments. This got rid of all my acne scars. Now my skin is even-toned and smooth, and a lot of people have noticed.
I came in for a scars consultation, and Alexandra told me I didn't need aggressive treatments like lasers because my scarring wasn’t severe or old. She recommended PRP or microneedling with exosomes, which sounded best for my situation. I ended up choosing PRP, and it worked well for my scars. My pores are now smaller and tighter.
